Thou Shalt Not Steal…Baby Jesus December 31, 2007

I hope I don’t get struck for that!

Thanks to Shauna’s blog, I found this link.  Brian and I were laughing through reading this.  You HAVE  to take the time to read this.  So so funny…in a weird way.

Brian also pointed out to me that this little prank that got this girl a felony charge would make her ineligible to work at McDonalds in any management position…how sad is that.  A prank would stop you from that.  Next time she will think twice, I hope!

Well, here are the pictures from Christmas this morning.  I’m still downloading the video.  Hopefully I can figure out how to get it on here!

Almost 25 weeks. December 17, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — harrisonandmommy @ 1:52 pm

Wow…yes, I have gained weight.  These pictures are almost exactly the same number of weeks into the pregnancies.  The second one is me pregnant with Harrison, the first one is yesterday.  I didn’t realize I was wearing the same shirt — funny!  I’m so much cuter in the second one!  Same glasses, same shirt and it is two years later…?  Oh my.  Maybe someone needs a makeover!

I had the clothes for our family photo shoot sitting out in Harrison’s room.  He came in with his pants and wanted them on his head.  So silly!

Updates… December 14, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — harrisonandmommy @ 12:59 pm

Well, I’ll give the sad news first — we didn’t get the house.  Long story, but it came down to outrageous closing costs that we just couldn’t afford.  We needed all of our downpayment to go to the mortgage so we could afford the monthly payments.  Oh, well, we will keep looking.

Good news — I do NOT have gestational diabetes!  The nurse said I passed with flying colours.  We have talked about it, though, and if a diabetic-type diet is okay during pregnancy, then it wouldn’t hurt for me to partake in that.  I am quite overweight.  Don’t worry, I’m not going on any crazy diets, just cutting down on sugars and some carbs.  I ate Splenda when I was pregnant with Harrison, so it shouldn’t be a problem now.

Harrison got up at 4:30 this morning to play.  Now that the crib is out of his room, we can’t just stick him back in there.  I laid down with him in his bed for a while and he was almost out until he did a crazy kick and kicked my pubic bone — OW!  I actually cried it hurt so much.  And walking today hurts.  It was sensative to begin with.  So I handed him over to Brian at 5:30 to deal with since I was doubled over in pain.  He eventually went back down for about another hour.  And we are up again.

Early nap today!

Merry Christmas!

New due date… December 11, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — harrisonandmommy @ 4:29 pm

So I just got back from the midwife’s.  They are changing my due date from March 26th to April 2nd according to the baby’s measurements.  But I’m measuring 27 weeks when they measure from my pubic bone to the top of my uterus.  I’m confused.  Anyway, I’m taking the 3-hour glucose test tomorrow and that should confirm some information too.  The midwife is worried that because I’m measuring bigger than she would like that I’m going to have to do a scheduled C and I won’t be able to have a VBAC.  Only time will tell for now.

 Just an update!

Cutest cupcakes ever! December 11, 2007

Well, I thought I’d make some cute cupcakes for youth group tomorrow.  I think they turned out adorable!  Here is where I got the idea http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_88896,00.html

Also, we went to Brian’s employee party today and it was at a roller rink.  Harrison tried his best at roller skating.  How cute is he!  (Please ignore the red eyes, this was with my point and shoot)

Our Christmas Tree! December 8, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — harrisonandmommy @ 12:01 am

Here is our tree!  I love it.  Does the bottom look like I had help from an 18-month old in decorating it?  I did!  I stayed up late the other night decorating it.  I had help undecorating the bottom from Harrison and the kitty.  Please ignore the mess of my house.  The boxes and tote are Christmas stuff that needs to go into the garage.  And the tree isn’t crooked, but it looks like it.

Gestational Diabetes? December 4, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — harrisonandmommy @ 5:04 pm

Well, the midwife just called and my early test for gestational diabetes came back abnormal.  I have to do the three-hour test now to determine if I have it.  I suspected I had it with Harrison, but the test then came back negative.  My midwife this time suspects that it was misdiagnosed with Harrison.  She suspected that I have it now, and looks like she just might be right.  I am overweight, which obviously is a huge contributing factor.  They are mailing me the prescription today, so hopefully I can do the test by the end of the week and get this under control.  From what I have read online, generally they try and control it by diet and then if they have to, insulin injections.  Puh-lease no injections.  That won’t go well for me.  I don’t do needles.

If any of you have had this, please fill me in!

I’ll keep you posted…
