He did it! November 6, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — harrisonandmommy @ 12:46 pm

Harrison made it through his first night in his big boy bed!!!!!!!!!  He actually fell asleep in his playpen and then we moved him about 45 minutes after he fell asleep.  I left my bedroom door open so I could hear him if he needed me.  We checked on him through out the evening before we went to bed and he is a mover.  He was turned all around.  Anyway, he slept until 7 this morning 🙂  So he slept 11 hours in his big boy bed!  WOO HOO!  And he woke up, got out of bed, opened his door (which is what woke me up) and he came into my room and got me!  And yesterday he took his entire nap in his big boy bed too.  He fell asleep on me in the morning (which hasn’t happened since he was an infant) and so I moved him into his big boy bed and he slept there!

This is so exciting for us!  We are making progress.  WOO HOO!

EDIT: To clarify, if you look at the pictures a few posts down you will see his bed.  This is a twin bed.  We have lowered it to the frame on the floor and put up a rail and he stays in it.  He stayed in it again last night.  So far so good.  He still won’t fall asleep in it, but we are taking baby steps!  We weren’t sure he would be ready for it, but he seems to be doing really well.  I didn’t want two cribs when the baby came, and we thought we would try to get him in the big boy bed now in hopes that he will be less likely to revert when the baby gets here.  Just our hopes!

Are we talking about a toddler bed here??? Wow, I thought you were talking about a crib. I don’t think Lila is ready for a toddler bed yet. I’d never get her to stay in bed!

We just threw ’em in the bed when it came time. Put some pillows on the floor on the side that wasn’t up against a wall and put ’em to sleep. It took a few nights of getting up a few times to do it. And they each fell out of bed, like two or three times, and didn’t do it anymore! Brenna was 14 months when we put her in a twin bed, Joshua was 18 months.

We aren’t having any luck with this at all.. but Lore’s toddler bed is all set up along with her crib… which her crib turns into a toddler bed… but we didn’t want to take it a part in case she wouldn’t stay in it… thank goodness my in-laws had a toddler bed (from when they did foster care) and that is the one that is set up so it is like a little couch in her room lol… she sits and reads on it but that is it lol…
