Last night I attended the Annie Leibovitz lecture/book signing. I was inspired to take more pictures of my family and really document our lives. I am a photographer but I am a mother first. What better gift could I give my children than to document their lives? I hear moms telling me all the time, Oh, I wish I could take good pictures of my kids. I can. In fact, I get paid to take pictures of other people. I have never been great at documenting my own kids’ lives. I’m not promising to take/post a picture every day of the kids, but ideally that’s what I would like to try and do.
These are not going to be pretty portraits of my family. These are going to be what we do in our lives. There may be runny noses and messy floors. There may be drooling babies and crying boys. There will be lots of smiles and happy times. I am trying to document our life how it happens. To quote a friend of mine I’m trying to shoot “between the smiles”. I want to capture our life, one day at a time. These likely won’t be lit with a flash. They will be very raw images.
This morning we did everything with sunglasses on. He is funny!
He couldn’t see his waffles with them on.

I am trying to get a new blog up and running, so I took a bit of a break from this one but I haven’t got the new one up yet.
I am busy with work right now getting family photo shoots done for Christmas. SO much has been going on!
I wanted to write about this before I forget about it. Harrison is RIOT right now. He is way too funny. One of his favorite sayings right now is: “Oh me goodness.” It is ADORABLE!
Sterling needs a new crib. We found one at Target we liked but they don’t keep anything in stock. I’m SO glad we didn’t buy that one. We found one at Babies R Us that is WAY nice. I LOVE it. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3245139
We are really looking forward to a small Thanksgiving this year, just Brian’s cousin and his wife. I’m excited to actually get out my REAL silverware…we have yet to use it and I’ve had it for six years. And I got new plates too, so exciting!

fondant covered cake. This is a cake for Brian’s cousin’s wife’s baby shower tomorrow. I wanted to finish tonight in case I screwed it up I could go and find a cake tomorrow. Thankfully it turned out pretty good, I think. It is a French Vanilla cake with French vanilla pudding and strawberry pie filling.
